2014 Harley Davidson Vrod Muscle

The 2014 Harley-Davidson V-Rod Muscle was Harley’s controversial entry into the power-cruiser market, engineered to challenge traditional styling norms with aggressive superbike DNA. With bold, raw drag-strip aesthetics and high-revving performance, this 1247cc liquid-cooled muscle bike was born from a unique collaboration between Harley-Davidson and Porsche. It was built to dominate straight-line highway acceleration while delivering low-slung, ultra-stable high-speed cruising with effortless authority.

Historical Significance & Evolution

  • The Revolution Engine: Launched in the VRSC platform to bring water-cooling to Harley-Davidson, the Revolution powerplant integrated dual overhead cams and track-tested architecture from the factory's VR1000 superbike racing program.

  • The Muscle Persona: Introduced into the family in 2009, the VRSCF variant brought a wider, more angular appearance distinct from other V-Rods. It featured a stylized fastback rear fender, dual-sided straight exhaust turnouts, integrated mirror turn signals, and a massive 240mm rear tire.

  • Late-Era Collectibility: The 2014 model year represents the highly refined, late-stage generation of this liquid-cooled platform. Production of the entire V-Rod family permanently ended in 2017, making clean, original Muscle variants increasingly prized by modern power-cruiser enthusiasts.
